A sequel to the world-famous novel ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’?
‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ is the classic of all times written by Harper Lee. It was first published in July 1960. Since then over 30 Million copies of ‘Mockingbird’ were sold. Now, 55 years after the debut of the literary classic, Lee announced on February 3rd that she will be publishing her second novel which was originally written before ‘Mockingbird’. Called ‘Go Set a Watchman’, it has been revealed to be a sequel to ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’.
The sequel ,which will be published July 2015, will follow the ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ protagonist, Scout Finch, as an adult.
“Scout (Jean Louise Finch) has returned to Maycomb from New York to visit her father, Atticus. She is forced to grapple with issues both personal and political as she tries to understand her father’s attitude toward society, and her own feelings about the place where she was born and spent her childhood.”
